TQL 101 Class Structure

TQL101 runs in classes. Each class period is called a semester

Joining a TQL101 Class has 3 phases: 1. Pre-qualification; 2. Mid-term; 3. Graduation

Pre-qualification

This is the period when we evaluate TQLOne applicants for qualifications. Those who meet the perquisites will be admitted to the Program.

Mid-term

Weekly tutorials will be started after program admission is closed. The first half of the learning is marked by your mid-term project demo given during week #5 - #7 of the Program.

Graduation

After all the weekly tutorials are completed (total of 8 sessions), you will have additional 3 weeks to finish and submit the final project. The final project will be evaluated against the graduation criteria.

Class expectations:

1. Doing: "There is no try, there is only do." – John Green

2. Asking: "The art and science of asking questions is the source of all knowledge." – Thomas Berger

3. Sharing:  "Don’t go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Alternative Paths Policies

The Program allows the following adjusted learning paths for admitted members in order to accommodate timing and schedule challenges. However, once enrolled, you will have 6 months to finish the Program. If the 6-months time has expired, you will need to be pre-qualified again for re-starting the Program.

Transfer*

You can transfer from one class to another. Usually due to unforeseen work or personal schedule changes, a class member may transfer to a future class to pick up the learning. Transfers need to stay within the 6-months time window.

* Pay-forward: "pay-forward" is a request made by us to any class member who transfer to a future class. If you transfer, we will ask you to find and team up with at least one member from the future class, and provide him/her the initial guidance based on your previous class experience to help him/her get started fast.

Since providing the classes is an investment and we decided to keep free of charge, we hope every person we invest in gives return to the community.

Extension

You can request extensions on the timing of mid-term demo and in submitting your final project. Extension does not involve you joining another semester of class. You are simply taking more time to finish the project requirements. Extensions need to stay within the 6-months time window.

Notes for transfers and extensions:

  • The 6-months time window applies
  • You will have continued 24/7 technical support during the 6-months time
  • You will have continued access to all the learning materials

TQL101 Alumni - Continuous Learning Opportunities

Once you graduate from TQL101, you are a TQL101 alum and are on a 2-year commitment from us to provide you continuous learning.

Refresh

You can join any future classes of the same curriculum (TQL101, TQL101C) if you want to refresh the knowledge. We evolve the course tutorials over time based on market trends and on class member feedbacks. They tend to get more interesting over time and may add more devices and examples. You need to give us a notice to join a refresh class, but do not need to be qualified again.

Advance

You are automatically eligible to join any advanced classes without pre-qualification. For example, TQL201 are in development. However, we don't not have guarantee to keep the advanced classes free.

Continued Support

Once a TQL101 alum, you are in a supported group. The 24/7 technical support will continue to be available to you for 2 years, as long as the scope of your issue is within the TQL101 tutorial content.

We invest significant effort to provide this level of support without charge to TQL101 members and alumni, only because this is a selected group.
